We picked out a dozen bagels, as well as a container of cream cheese out of the fridge and brought it to the middle counter. I said to the lady at the counter, "we have 1 cream cheese, a dozen baglels, and it is my birthday." Immediatly after i said it was my birthday, the woman got all upset with me and started going on with how she already entered it in the register and i should have told her before just incase the promotion was no longer available. I asked her nicely how am i suppose to know that? and that the promotion was listed on the website. I then said you dont need to be so rude about it. She still kept talking about it. I then gave up, put the products down on the counter and started walking out the door. She then made a comment that I couldnt make out. I then stated that I am a customer that deserves respect and that you have lost yourselves a customer and left.

I have never in my entire life experienced such bad customer service. It is not the customers responsibility to know the cash register policies of the store. I shouldnt be expected to know the order in which I have to recite what I would like, and any promotion I want to take advantage of UNLESS there was a notice stating such, as there is for example at Mcdonalds when you want to redeem a monoply food prize.

If I didn't do it in the right order, I appologise. Regardless, if a customer does not order things correctly the cashier should just deal with it and process the order. I don't need an explanation on how to order bagels for my birthday in the future since it may be minimum a year before I can take advantage of it again.

I didnt get a good look at the name tag if the employee was wearing one. I describe her as Female, brown skinned, black hair below shoulder length hair tied into a ponytail. She is heavy set about 5'5 to 5'6.

UPDATE from feb 14, 2012: Well I emailed the company on their website and quickly received a reply back from Brenda Morgenstern, the owner to come back to the store to make it right as "We try our best to impress upon staff that customer service is as valuable as the Hope Diamond." What a joke. I walked in with my wife, approached the counter and asked a casier if Brenda was in. The lady said she was sitting in one of the chairs. Suddenly, this short guy starts getting in my face asking me who I am, where i'm from etc. I must have told him my name and that Brenda was expecting me like 3-4 times. Finally Brenda realizes who I am and comes up to meet me at the counter. I would have thought she would act different, but I guess the Terrible customer service comes from the very top, so no wonder the staff act the same. She would barely let me speak, kept demanding ID to get my 12 bagels, and never addressed the actual issues I had with the store. She even went to far as to accuse ME of doing things and saying things I never did. It is pointless trying to deal with her and the rude guy so I just showed them my ID got my dozen and left
